The first edition of the "Sagar Handia Fest" is ready to show Basque culture enthusiasts in the Big Apple. The event which will take place on March 17th at the Euzko Etxea of New York and will be an experience dedicated to one of the most emblematic products of the region: the sagardo.

This Basque festival will celebrate the recent opening of the txotx season, a Basque ritual that marks the beginning of cider production. This unique event pays tribute to sagardo, the traditional Basque cider, which has been an integral part of Basque culture for centuries. It will be an experience that will combine the sagardo tradition, gastronomy and entertainment in a festive and welcoming atmosphere. Attendees will have the opportunity to enjoy traditional Basque food, accompanied by cider from different leading brands in both Basque Country and New York.

At "SAGAR HANDIA FEST 2024", we will create a festive atmosphere that we will accompany with Basque culinary tastings, traditional music and of course, lots of cider. There will also be cultural shows and more activities to have fun and celebrate a day that, beyond cider, will serve to make our wonderful culture expand throughout New York, so that more and more people can enjoy our customs, gastronomy and more identifying traditions.

The event is in colaboration with the Euzko Etxea of New York and with different Basque cider brands and associations as sponsors, we will ensure that the public enjoys a unique experience in the heart of a city as iconic as New York. In addition to offering food and drink, the festival will offer entertainment in the form of live performances, raffles, dancing and fascinating presentations on the history and making of sagardo, as well as the opportunity to immerse yourself in Basque culture.
